ABOUT WILDCAT RADIO
Wildcat Radio is a non-Profit internet and closed circuit radio station based in London, Ontario Canada at Westminster Secondary School. The station was started under the vision of Mr. Mark Brotherston, The schools auto shop teacher and technical department head, and Korey Bray community volunteer as an outlet to give students at the school a voice and learn valuable job skills while having fun and providing a valuable service to the school and community.
Mr. Brotherston has always held radio as a 2nd love to the auto shop and has held jobs within recent years as host of “The Car Show” on AM 980, a local news talk station in London. Korey used to produce The Car Show while it was on the air, as well has worked within the station on other levels, and currently holds a Full Time position in Toronto at a radio station there. Korey’s industry skills and knowledge bring a great edge to the program and keeps everything up to date on what is currently going on in the industry.
Computers for schools, as well as some backing from Westminster Secondary School has made this program come alive and kept it going for over 6 years now.
The station ran an CHR Format (Contempory HIT Radio) playing the #1 hits from Rock/Pop/Urban, and a flavour of hits from recent years up until June 2007. Now Wildcat runs an YHR (Youth HIT Radio) format. This format has brought an expanded playlist to include Rock/Pop/Urban/Dance/House and some Indie artists. Also you will hear hits from the past as part of our waybacks rewind feature. Basically anything that youth tend to listen to that are 12 to 34 years of age!
